Stephanie Ruel?

Biography

Based in Saint-Lazare, Stéphanie Ruel is a passionate painter, using the mediums of acrylic and oil. Alongside an established career as a lawyer, she pursues her passion for art by devoting herself to painting. This bold career choice reflects a deep desire to explore the infinite potential of artistic expression and to share her unique vision with the world.

Her artistic approach is marked by a constant exploration of color, texture, and form, but she also has an introspective approach. Inspired by the landscapes that surround her and her travels, as well as by universal themes such as nature, humanity, resilience, and emotions, each work is an invitation to contemplate the beauty and complexity of life.

An active participant in exhibitions and symposiums, she is deeply involved in the artistic community. These events not only provide a platform to showcase her work, but also an opportunity to connect with other artists and positively influence the local artistic landscape. She firmly believes in the importance of exchanging ideas and mutual inspiration, viewing every interaction as an opportunity for growth and learning.

In each painting, she seeks to capture the essence of her subject, creating works that not only decorate, but also tell a story. Her art is a constant exploration of light, shadow, and emotion, a visual journey that invites us to deep and personal reflection.

Artistic approach

My artistic approach is rooted in a profound exploration of texture, light, and human emotion. Through mediums such as acrylic and oil, I seek to capture the essence of the natural world while interrogating universal themes such as memory, beauty, and resilience.

The landscapes I paint, often inspired by my travels, offer a moment of tranquility, like a pause in a world where time stands still. Through textured brushstrokes and vibrant color palettes, I recreate scenes that capture not only the visual beauty, but also the emotional essence of the places.

My work also explores more introspective themes, such as human suffering and resilience. Works such as Don't Forget Ukraine express collective and individual pain with powerful symbols, such as red-stained sunflowers, recalling both vitality and tragedy.

The realism of some of my works is combined with a symbolic and allegorical dimension, creating a dialogue between the visible and the invisible. I also like to play with contrasts in my portraits and compositions, combining dense textures with lighter surfaces to represent the duality of the human being: fragility and strength, sadness and joy. Each painting becomes a conversation between matter, light, and the human soul.
